A Moreton Bay pool builder is flying the flag for Queensland at the swimming pool industry’s Australasian final this week.
Brendale-based MFP Easy Fibreglass Pools won gold for Best Fibreglass Pool Builder at the 2026 SPASA Queensland Awards of Excellence.
As the state winner, it will represent Queensland at the Australasian awards on Wednesday (August 19) at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre
MFP Easy Fibreglass Pools started 11 years ago with three people. Today it employs around 30 from its South Pine Rd base and is Aqua Technics’ largest dealer in Australia.
Word of mouth built the early years,but MFP is now selling dozens of pools a month, has its own software platform and is installing AI across the business.
General Manager Caleb Druhan, who runs the business alongside Managing Director Karl Brown, said operating in Moreton Bay was one of the keys to their success.
“We could have based ourselves anywhere in South East Queensland, but we chose to stay in Moreton Bay because this is where our people live,” Caleb said.
“This region has been good to us. Our staff live here, their kids go to school here and the first jobs that put us on the map were backyards within half an hour of the yard.
“Moreton Bay backs businesses that employ locally and we’ve benefitted from that.”
“The families here have given us the work that got us in front of the judges – so the award is theirs as much as ours.”

Caleb started with MFP Easy Fibreglass Pools as one of its first installers and has been involved in more than 1000 pool installations.
“I dig holes and set shells before I ran anything, that’s the only reason I know what our crews are dealing with when it rains for a fortnight and the schedule falls apart,” Caleb said.
“Many people sell you the pool and send a subcontractor to install it. Ours are employees. It’s harder to run and costs more but there’s nobody for us to blame when something goes wrong!”
This is the second successive year MFP Easy Fibreglass Pools has been recognised at state and national levels.
In 2025 it was named national Best Fibreglass Pool Builder, Queensland Business of the Year and Queensland Fibreglass Pool of the Year for a backyard build named The Grandkids’ Retreat.
