Paul Fisher has been appointed the new CEO of Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast (RDAMBSC).
He is returning to the RDA network after being CEO of the RDA Sunshine Coast from 2018-2023 and starts on Monday July 13.
In his previous role, Mr Fisher played a key role in strengthening stakeholder engagement, advancing regional economic priorities and supporting the region through COVID-19.
His appointment comes at a pivotal time for Moreton Bay, Noosa and Sunshine Coast – one of Australia’s fastest-growing RDA areas.
RDAMBSC Chair Jason Law said Mr Fisher’s experience across regional development and the private sector will enable him to lead the organisation.
“Paul brings a unique combination of regional development expertise, commercial acumen and a deep understanding of our region’s opportunities and challenges,” Mr Law said.
“He has a proven track record of building productive partnerships across government, industry and the community, and delivering outcomes that support economic growth and regional prosperity.
“Our region continues to experience significant population growth and increasing demand for infrastructure, jobs and investment.
“Paul is well placed to lead RDAMBSC’s work in identifying opportunities, addressing constraints and advocating for initiatives that deliver long-term benefits for communities.”
Mr Fisher had senior roles in the public and private sectors and was Chief Commercial Officer of RAIDER Targetry, leading commercial strategy and business development.
“The Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa region is one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing areas in Australia, with significant opportunities across advanced manufacturing, defence, aerospace, health, tourism and emerging industries,” he said.
“Regional Development Australia plays an important role in bringing together government, industry and community leaders to identify opportunities, address challenges and help unlock the region’s full potential.
“I am excited to be part of that work and to help ensure our region continues to attract investment, create jobs and build strong, resilient communities.”
Mr Fisher will be based at RDAMBSC’s Sunshine Coast offices and will lead the organisation’s work to support sustainable economic development across the City of Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa local government areas.
