From pickleball and farm experiences to waterfront dining and hinterland wineries, businesses across the City of Moreton Bay have plenty of options when it comes to planning their end-of-year celebrations.
Whether it’s a team-building activity, a long lunch or a larger workplace function, there’s no need to look far for Christmas party inspiration.
Here are some local venues and experiences worth considering.
Something different
The work Christmas party doesn’t have to mean another sit-down lunch. For businesses wanting to bring colleagues together over a shared experience, there are plenty of ways to make the celebration a little different.
From friendly competition to hands-on challenges, these options offer a chance to step away from the usual workplace routine.
- Northside Badminton, Brendale: Swap the office for the court with a badminton session or friendly pickleball competition.
- The Candle Lab, North Lakes: Get creative with a candle-making experience, giving colleagues a chance to try something hands-on and take home their creations.
- Trevena Glen Farm, Mount Samson: Head into the hinterland for farm experiences or put the team’s problem-solving skills to the test in an escape room.
- Bramble Bay Bowls Club, Woody Point: Enjoy a relaxed afternoon of barefoot bowls and friendly competition.
- Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club, Banksia Beach: Take the celebration onto the golf course before gathering at the clubhouse.
- Mathema Gallery, Ocean View: Explore interactive exhibits and hands-on mathematical challenges for a group outing with a difference.
For teams that spend much of the year working across different locations or departments, an activity can also provide an opportunity to connect outside the office.
Elevated dining
Sometimes a good meal and a change of scenery are all that’s needed to celebrate the end of a busy year.
For businesses looking to thank employees, entertain clients or gather colleagues around a table, Moreton Bay offers everything from waterfront dining to hinterland winery experiences.
- Ocean View Estates, Ocean View: Winery dining surrounded by hinterland scenery.
- The Belvedere, Woody Point: Waterfront dining overlooking Bramble Bay.
- Tempest Seafood Restaurant, Scarborough: Seafood and teppanyaki by the water.
- Sidonié Cafe & Bar, Newport: Waterfront dining, tapas, cocktails and wine.
For larger groups, it’s worth checking whether venues offer set menus, private dining spaces or dedicated Christmas function packages.
